This infrared footage was submitted to AARO as Department of War material and carries the uploader-defined title "AFSOC Kabul UAP Jul 2017." AARO assesses that it is likely derived from an infrared sensor aboard a U.S. military platform operating in the United States Central Command area of responsibility.

The title places the incident at Kabul in July 2017, but AARO notes that many materials in the collection lack a substantiated chain-of-custody and that this title was defined by the uploader. The video was uploaded to a classified network in June 2024, and the released file is redacted.
