Re: Waffen SS Beheading By Axe (circa 1944)
Oh yes. I got sick and tired of all the bullshit identifications. These are Waffen SS. The insignia could not be more clear. The last photo is Waffen-SS sleeve chevron worn by the Waffen-SS holding the rank of SS-Rottenführer. Double silver-aluminum sleeve chevron insignia on black wool base. |

Re: Waffen SS Beheading By Axe (circa 1944)
Jump to: navigation, search Father Petar "Pero" Brzica (born ca. 1917)[1] was a Croatian Nazi collaborator and war criminal. Before the war he was a scholarship student at the Franciscan college of Široki Brijeg in Herzegovina and a member of The Great Brotherhood of Crusaders. He spent some time studying law in Zagreb where he became the Ustashe Youth member and later a member of the Croatian fascist Ustaša government (1941-1945) and one of the guards in the Jasenovac concentration camp.[2] As an Ustashe he held the rank of Lieutenant.[3][4][5] While he is known for having beaten an inmate to death in March 1943,[6] he is notorious for having won a contest in which he used a curve-bladed knife, also called a srbosjek, to kill newly-arrived concentration camp prisoners.[7][8][9][10][11][12] Brzica boasted of winning the contest by killing the largest number of prisoners - 1360 people.[13][14] Some other sources set Brzica's "record" at a lower number, between 670 [15] and 1100.[16] |

Re: Waffen SS Beheading By Axe (circa 1944)
to explain i am a Croat but i know my history...i do not support NAZI movement this contest was held in speed killing and the knife it was used for cheap killing which is energy efficient To explain...if you try cutting the necks of lets say 1360 chickens your hands would be very sore if you would have the energy to do it...now imagine slaughtering 1360 ppl...it was how much you can kill before collapsing from exhaustion so "serbcutter" was very efficient in these respects like Alaskan skinning at what it is made for... |

Re: Waffen SS Beheading By Axe (circa 1944)
No problem. I just disliked seeing an SS officer being called Japanese. Surprised the hell out of me. The only thing I had trouble with is the cut of the SS jacket I posted vs the cut of the officer in question. There were different manufacturers of jackets and sometimes officers would either buy a jacket or have one made that looked close. The one I posted is standard issue. I am thinking that the one on the officer in question is an earlier style of cut. Never-the-less the collar insignia and the sleeve chevrons are absolutely SS. Which division and which area of the war...I just don't know and it would take hours to find sort through sources to find out.
