This one and the others from the same city/date were Freedom Riders who were arrested by racist Southern cops. #20975 in the lower right is Joan Trumpauer Mulholland. She's still alive.

I love how some of the ladies are described as having a 'fresh complexion' despite being as gnarly looking AF!! Clearly life was hard, and definitions of what a good skin looks like have changed!  |
