Re: Vietnam War Trophy Photos
You know I noticed something in these images which really disturded me and that does not happen offten so I thought I would share. Seeing the dead of war did not disturb me I have worked in the medical field all my life and have seen the dead many many times. What disturbed me was the looks on the faces of the men in the pictures posing with their kills. It sudenly occured to me I had seen those same facial expressions on simular men in deer camp as they too posed with their kills. Killng deer or killing charlie same satisfied look in the eye of the killer. |

Re: Vietnam War Trophy Photos
Got to Agree with Irish on this one While rancid has dreams of Viet Nam those who were actually there still have the nightmares. Nobody and I mean nobody that I know who was there chose to be there. There is nothing cool about being droped in the middle of a hot, humid , stinking jungle with a M16 and coming to the realization that you most likely are going to die there. Rancid have you ever had another human make an honest attempt to take your life. It is not a good thing there is no glamour in it certainly not the shit dreams are made of. The only saving grace in combat situations is that shit happens so fast you don't have time to think about what happpening aroud you , you only have time to react. The images which stick in your head come later when you have time to stop and think about what just happened. You just go ahead and keep having your dreams, many of the rest of us will just keep on having our nightmares. P.S. this is not just a Veit Nam thing the men and women who served in Iraq, and Afganastan have many sleeples nights as well. |
