Possibly both father and child are dead in the first photo. Look at the father's hands, and the strange eyes are possibly painted on.

woah is it just me or does the girl in pic 2 look alive not bad for a corpse had trouble makin out who was the dead 1

In the second picture, it almost looks like the girl is leaning back against a table - you can see part of it under the mom's left arm and also what looks like a table leg is visible at the girl's feet. Or maybe she's propped up on it; her feet don't look like they're flat on the floor. |
