oo just found this link it gives the original story about the Pollet brothers Auguste and Abel with two other men,all four men were robbers and the first to be executed by guillotine in France after a long period of no executions.

(In order:) Abel and Auguste Pollet, executed on 11 January, 1909. The names are bass-ackwards in that picture. There is another pictures of les freres Pollet which I'll send here, later. Abel's last words were "Merde et encore merde," which proves you shouldn't swear during your execution. Au bentoit, poissons!
