Very old but seldom seen. The worst street railway accident in US history took place in Chicago, May 1950, when a streetcar struck a gasoline tanker truck and spilled 1200 gallons of flaming fuel. 40 or so people were burned to death pressed up against the doors of the streetcar which opened inward. The fireman is literally knee deep in corpses.
