Re: Self-pointers From The 1600s
Is it just me or does anyone else see a crayfish/lobster on that olde worlde boobie? It could have something to do with the thought that medical things where often related to animals or demons, as it was in some of my mothers old books (she collected old medical books, some seriously old). She donated them to various medical trusts, museums and reference centres to be freely available for study to all...as I said on here before if that where me I would have offered to sell them to the interested museums etc but she would have none of it and turned down the offers of financial "gifts" for things she said she never owned, she was just the custodian....funny old girl really hard as nails but wonderfully thoughtful at the same time and one of the few people I have ever really feared in my life, she punched me out a few times when I was a little shite and yup I deserved it! |
