War happened to him. No one who has not been in combat can understand the horror that is war. The sights the sounds the smells the constant fear all stay with you long after war has stopped. If you're lucky and get to go home and have all of your limbs and functions you'll still be haunted by war for the rest of your life. War happened to him. |
