RMS Lusitania Victims *child Warning*
I'm not sure if it's okay to post pics in 2 threads, but I thought these photographs were so powerful that they deserved spot in the vintage section. If you want to see the documentaries and read the full story, here's the link to my long post in the documentaries section, as well as a few more photos and a great link to a website with everything you could hope for in details, reading material and crew and passenger info/stories: http://www.documentingreality.com/fo...warning-128232 |

Re: RMS Lusitania Victims *child Warning*
To a degree, yes, the sinking of the RMS Lusitania did help draw the USA into WWI. If memory serves, there was about 1200 people killed, 130 or so were american. This, coupled with the infamous zimmermann telegram incited the USA to declare war on German, but not until 1917. Even though it was supposed to be a cruise ship, it has become known that the ship was carrying munitions, and lots of conspiracy theories that the British government let the Lusitania be put into danger in order to help bring the neutral USA into the war. |
