One of the US generals was Douglas MacArthur's father. Douglas was raised in the PI, and was personally committed to it -- "I shall return." MacArthur's mistress and big squeeze in life was Isabel "Dimples" Rosario Cooper, a mistiza film-star.

The Filipino language is being taught in schools as the national language again.. but there are still going to be some inflections of Spanish contained therein. But there own language and not Spanish none the less
