Re: Nazis & Racism
oh really? put a bow on a pig its still a pig. They were thugs who when they went against a real army not invading unprotected countries couldn't win, because hitler was a complete nut job who didn;t let his generals do their thing. But if you lived during that time be sure you would more than likely be sucking gas, they were nothing to admire

Re: Nazis & Racism
You do realize it was a unmatched fight correct. Axis and Allies. 5+ countries against what 3. One on one they were unstoppable. The Germans had the best tactics, weaponry, technology, etc at the time. Think German engineering. They went for quality over mass produced junk. The Tiger tank would easily take out anything the US or Russians had like stepping on an ant. The only issue was they were expensive so they didn't have as many. The Luger P08 far superior to the 1911. Don't forget the first submachine guns were introduced by the germans. Without the Nazis wars today would be fought totally different. Yes they were a threat. Yes what they did was wrong, but give credit where credit is due. Everybody learned a lot from them and you will never find a more loyal group of people. |

Re: Nazis & Racism
And yet they still relied on bolt-action KARs, whereas America was issuing M1 Garands that put the fire rate of an 8-man Wehrmacht squad into the hands of every single American infantryman. That's one part of the Nazi war machine that has always mystified me.

Re: Nazis & Racism
The AK-47 was based off of a dropped German machine gun picked up by a Russian soldier on the front lines that eventually ended up in the hands of Kalashnikov who used it as a starting point for his design.

Re: Nazis & Racism
I do believe the Nazis actually would have stood a fighting chance had they A-Not stopped when they had the BEF force with their backs to the ocean at Dunkirk, instead relying on the Luftwaffe to bomb them into extinction B-Not switched from bombing military targets to instead try to bomb the civilian population of England into submission (not only allowing many RAF fighters to be shot down then back up in the air on the same day but also cancelling Operation Sea Lion, Hitler's plans to invade Great Britain) C-Not had to continuously bail out Italy when Mussolini failed to conquer the Balkans, Greece, Albania, etc. (which delayed plans for Operation Barbarossa), D-Not declared war on the US (we would have entered the conflict eventually, it was inevitable, but it might not have been quite so soon, and E-Underestimated both the Russian fighting spirit and, more importantly, the Russian winters. When they conquered Poland, France, Denmark, Norway, the Benelux countries, the successes of the Wehrmacht made them far too overconfident. Their early successes in Barbarossa were mainly due to the fact that that idiot Stalin had gotten rid of so many of his most able generals and military leaders during his Great Purge, plus he flat out ignored warnings in the days and weeks ahead that Germany was about to attack; when they did, he shut himself up in his little country villa because he basically had no idea what the hell to do. But in going against the Soviet Union, we're talking an area far more vast than any nation they'd gone up against. And they pretty much threw everything they had at them, they kept almost nothing in reserve. And when the winter set in and the Russians then began to mount their counter-offenses and the German supply lines began to stretch, once again Hitler put all his faith into the insane promises Goering made that his Luftwaffe would be able to keep the Wehrmacht supplied with munitions and rations. Same thing goes with the Afrika Korps, stretched to the limits with no reserves forthcoming. *End rambling discourse* |
