No one wants to hear this; but here is the reality of many of these experiments. They led to real scientific findings that have assisted in how we live today. Also in the book about Mangula written by two survivors the children's view was more than usual enjoyable. They called him uncle. Most were treated very well, fed well and were given toys to occupy their time. I AM NO NAZI LOVER. My Grandpa jumped in to Normandy and his brother had to crawl the beach. Both hold Purple Hearts and my uncle the silver star. I am just simply stating or restating the truth as told by the survivors. I do believe a large faction of Nazis lived out their days in south and Central America. It is also a fact that an enormous amount of Nazi MDs and scientists were given safe haven and worked for the US government. In order for progress to be made a few lambs must be slaughtered and if you think we The US doesn't continue to experiment on human beings in the worst way. You are out of touch with the worlds reality.

At least there were some revelations from the experiments that have been incorporated into a greater understanding of humans against extremes and other horrible fucked up shit. I don't think any of it was noble, or worth it, and I fucking hate the Nazis for doing this shit. It's so strange to think of a time when the power and authority of a modern state (1940 Germany) was used against people like this. Imagine being in the midst of all the personal suffering and the suffering around you, last few years of your life being sheer torture and fear, then you simply die. So fucked up.

If this interests you, I highly recommend reading Auschwitz: A Doctor's Eyewitness Account by Miklos Nyiszli. Miklos was a Jew and a doctor, so is life was spared but he was pretty much forced to be Dr. Mengele's right hand man.
