Re: May We Never Forget Hiroshima (B&W)
My opinion is that the war in the Pacific was not started by the US. Perhaps we knew of the attack on Pearl Harbor was coming, but the Japanese still had the initial intent of attacking. We could have defended ourselves better, but that doesn't change the fact that we were sitting and waiting. Japan knew the US was fighting in Europe and took advantage of knowing most of the US Army forces were focused there. They were surprised when they realized the US Marines were in fact still active and heavily recruited in the Pacific. It's a damn shame a lot of civilians were killed by the two bombs, but they started the fight and we wanted to end it. Honestly, if I really didn't give a shit of civilians, I would say send 2 more to the middle east and flatten the wasteland. |

Stupid, truly stupid...you've NEVER heard anybody say America has the greatest government ever? LOL...nah, me either just the thousands upon thousands of people who've immigrated hear and the millions more who still wish to. Yeah, we have problems, lots of 'em but if you think we're among the most corrupt nations in the world, all that proves is you know painfully little about the governments of the rest of the world. Oh, and if you believe Russia has such a great 'code of honor', do business with them for a few years and then let's see what you think about 'em...if you've got any money left. |

Uh, Germany invaded Poland in September 1, 1939, NOT 1933 and the UK declared war on Germany two days later along with France, New Zealand and Australia...if you're gonna call someone out for getting their facts wrong, be sure you got your shit together. |

Re: May We Never Forget Hiroshima (B&W)
While it's clear that it was a great way for the US to test the effectiveness of their bombs (developed by US, British and German scientists actually) the story goes that the cost of invading Japan would have involved far higher casualties. The lesser evil perhaps? Still disturbing stuff.

Re: May We Never Forget Hiroshima (B&W)
wELL SAID! I don't even know what the hell a tosser is! lol! They NEEDED us and we helped. We weren't by any means the only ones victorious. Without them, Victory in Europe would have taken much longer. However, without us the war would not have ended as soon as it it did. He can whine about us dropping the bomb but without it there would have been countless more dead Brits. Period. He should somewhat appreciate our accomplishment in bringing an end to this war. Its not like we bombed Tokyo or another major city!

Re: May We Never Forget Hiroshima (B&W)
DO you fucking know who was the Oil suplier of the Nazis during WWII? FORD, GM, Imperial Oil, Goodyear, JP Morgan and other American corporations helped hitler rise to power and during the wars. WW1 is epecially rife with examples of this. While "our boys" in fighting gear were "willing to make the ultimate sacrifice" and give their lives on a killing field in an effort to stop hitler, there were wealthy corporate men making much money who could have DONE FAR MORE TO STOP HITLER. Simply stopping the flow of oil would have done it. Not hard to do not terrible, no loss of life in this action. In fact, US and British leaders allready had plans to stop oil and gasoline heading to Japan so that they would not be able to wage war, so such an idea was both well known and applied allready. But they chose to keep on selling oil to Hitler. |
