No doubt, the Russians would have done horrible things to these people if they were caught, but remember the story of Schindler, how right under noses of the SS etc, he managed to get many Jews out of Germany to safety. If there is a will, there is a way.

Well...considering what the Godless Bolsheviks did with non-Russian women, especially women who dated or married Nazi Party members...I think he did the only thing he could do. The Bolsheviks would have gang raped both women and forced the Nazi husband to watch. Then they would have killed the wife, and the daughter would have been put into sex slavery until she died. So considering that, I'm thinking he probably did a very uncharacteristically kind act.
