You should have kept the slr for your b&w shots (and any really complex filter/lighting setups), as it will always turn out better than with digital, though you'll never figure out why on a conscious level...I use both slr and digital depending on my needs (okay, and my budget as well)

I still got a few. My favorite is still my K1000. I know what you mean about the budget! I love the anticipation of getting film developed. Digital is nice, but being able to see the pics RIGHT NOW takes some of the fun out of it. In school I used to develop my own film. God, I love the smell of developing chemicals and nothing compares to that first whiff of a freshly opened 35mm film canister. PS Oh, yeah. I get a kick outta shooting sepia in digital. |

Black and white makes mood and atmosphere tangible, colour leaves nothing to the imagination, imagine Nosferatu in colour, in fact don't that is doing the film a disservice.
