Just a Vintage Paper I Happened to Get My Hands on

A woman that lived at the retirement center I work at was going through old papers and tossing them as she was moving away. She used to be a famous dancer back in the day and all I know of her is her name is Suzanne something and she had a creepy glass eye. She was old then and is most likely gone now.

Anyways, she handed me a stack of old newspapers, and by the color I knew they were old, so instead of chucking them as she requested, I took them home and found a goldmine.

Among the papers she handed me dated January 3rd 1918 and May 10th 1941 there are articles of Hitler meeting with Stalin, murders, war and lynching.

Unfortunately, these papers are so old they are literally crumbling at every move, so I finally (recently) flattened the papers with the most fascinating articles facing out to be viewed but took the best pictures I could prior to me laminating them. Also, these said articles obviously weren't a big deal back when as they are little boxes that I happened to see while going over the goods. The images are blurred and hard to see the full detail. So, what I've done is copied down the exact text of said articles, and as I am new here, these may get out of order because I am not even shitting you, I today just discovered something very basic on here I could do that I am not even willing to admit right now, so in the end, I will probably mess the format I am wanting up, so I will be prepared and include the headline as well (just to be safe).

Some are just headlines, of articles that were too much to write down, so I just am covering the headlines and the smaller articles, mostly the death involved ones, I wrote word for word, even the editors errors to keep it real.

I wish I had some killer gore to share, but I am not that stealthy with my camera phone while at work, to take images when there are 20+ people standing around that frown upon my shitty standards. So until then, I hope you find enjoyment in my stellar find :)

'Killed His Brother'

Monday January 2 1918

Coochland, VA. Jan. 2 As Dr. Asa W. Chamberlain went on trial here today for the murder of his brother Albert P. Chamberlain, he repudiated his counsels' statement that he would plead guilty and ask the mercy of the court, and reiterated his innocence.

Body found in wood; was he from Wichita?

Did some Wichitan come to his death by foul play in a woods near Athens, Tenn? This is what authorities would like to find out since discovering a part of a human skeleton on Christmas day by a party of hunters. A large hickory club lying near the skull in which there was a hole indicated foul play. On the inside of the coat pocket was the initials G. L. W. and on a handkerchief there was a "G". The clothes were rotten. In one pocket was a Southern Express receipt of 1917 date in which Wade Smith was expressing a suitcase to Fred Smith at Wichita, Kans. The suitcase was valued at fifty dollars and seemed to have been sent from Salsbury Tenn. The agent signing his name as "Griffin" or "Guffey".
The Director Zickfoose (bad ass name in my opinion) has been asked to find information if possible concerning whose skeleton this one found might be. The clothes and skeleton are being held at an undertaking establishment at Athens.

Hitler plans personal meeting with Stalin

London May 10th The London News Chronicle said today that information from Germany suggests that Chancellor Hitler is planning to met (actual error in paper) Josef Stalin, Premier of Soviet Russia within a few weeks.

These advices, according to the News Chronicle, said it was believed that the German Ambassador to Moscow had been instructed to put out feelers in Russian circles and try to arrange for a meeting.

Hitler, it was believed, may put forward comprehensive proposals for regulating Russo-German relations on a long term basis. The proposals, according to the News Chronicle's information, may envisage giving Russia a complete free hand in all Asia, including India and Japan and provide the Soviet with an outlet via the Persian Gulf and Iran, in return for a guarantee that Russia will make no effort to extend her present European frontiers.

Husband To War She Takes Life

Mrs. John Teter Near Eldorado Locked Children From House

Five Times Woman Sends Bullets From Revolver Into Her Head

Eldorado, Kas., Jan 2. - Mrs. John Teter, 27 years old, shot herself five times in the head with a small revolver last evenin on the Teter farm 2 1/2 miles Northeast of Eldorado, because she feared her husband would be called to war n the coming draft.

Man was away Mr. Teter went to the Farm Ranch *****(missing text as paper was ripped at seam)
Mrs. Teter sent the children outside to play locked the door and used the revolver. She was dead when the children, hungry and unable to get into the house got John Powell a neighbor to break in the door.

Mrs. Teter came from a prominent family of this county.

In regards to the Houston Riots article, I searched for the images of those hung and came up with nothing on it as the 13 hung were hung in gallows constructed overnight at Fort Houston, and only 2 people witnessing the hangings. Its an interesting read if you care to read up on it here are some links.

http://www.tbhpp.org/riots.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston_Riot_%281917%29

I also searched for images or any more information on the other articles I have, and again found nothing. Probably because camera's weren't as readily available as smart phone cameras everybody has readily available today to capture images of sick twisted shit.

So this is all I have. I hope it was worthy of a post.
