Goebbels was NOT gay......as Old Norseman notes, he was a compulsive womanizer. As head of the German film industry, he pretty much had his pick of actresses.
The son in the picture, Harald Quant, was a officer in the Luftwaffe, and the photo was retouched to include him.
After the war, he inherited the Quant fortune, which was a huge amount of the industry in West Germany. He lived a quiet life, and was one of the first billionaires after WWII... Goebbels wife was Magda Quant, and she inherited the money, which immediatly passed to Harald Quant when she killed herself and all her children.
They could have moved the children out of Berlin. They would have been well taken care of, and, as children, they weren't guilty of anything except being little kids. There was no reason for them to die, except Magda wouldn't give them up.

Yes, and the the thing about this was that he didn't have the stomach to bust the capsules into their mouths himself, his wife Magda did it by HERSELF from all of the accounts I have read.

I have read in several accounts that they had made a joint decision to murder the children as they felt a world without Hitler would not be fit for them to live in. It is also my understanding from my readings that when they explained their decision to Hitler that he was quite enthusiastic about it. Of course Magda was the one stuck doing the dirty deed by herself. I think Magda was the most ardent nazi of the entire group. Hitler actually pinned his own golden nazi badge on Magda himself, in order too boost her tenacity in performing that hideous deed in the bunker. It's funny Martin Boorman had his wife and many children sent to a safe haven in those final bunker days and they all became productive citizens ......even one became a catholic priest.
