You can still buy anatomically correct figurines that doctors use. They come in ceramic or ivory. If you get an ivory one it is just about priceless. They were used by doctors because in Japan a male doctor would be seriously out of line to touch a female in a casual way. Also a female would be rude to point to parts of her own body to describe problems. So they have figurines for her and the doctor to point to. Thereby avoiding awkward moments.
