Am I right in remembering these guys both had developmental delays or had some form of psychotic mental illness? So sad that no one checked up on them or seemed to give a shit.

Their parents were related, but, both guys went to college and had degrees, but, I'm not sure in what. I believe it was Collyer used to ride a canoe in a body of water near where they lived. They were found with 140 tons of garbage.

Homer went blind in 1937 due to hemorrhages behind his eyes and was found dead on March 21, 1947, from malnutrition, dehydration and cardiac arrest. Neighbors called police due to the stench and they broke windows.

It was thought Collyer went to Atlantic City, NJ, but, when they didn't find him there, they went back to the house and found him on April8, 1947.
