Re: Head on the Bread Board
Don't get me wrong, I find it repugnant, and could never do something like this, no matter what...that said, short of a bullet to the head, there is no faster and less painful way of doing someone in than beheading (as long as it's done quick of course, otherwise it's a really, really nasty way to go)...it's mostly abhorant to us for the same reason as execution by bullet to the head - it LOOKS horrible. Taking our visceral reaction out of the equation, the nicer looking ways (drowning, asphyxiation methods etc) take long enough for the kid to have experienced mortal terror and pain, and leaving the kid out in the elements to die of exposure is simply the worst that I can think of on all fronts. After reading the all too breif article that was supplied, it would appear that the motivation that I offered for the murder was not accurate in this case (the woman apparently just snapped - though one has to wonder if she would have simply used birth control or had an abortion if those had been options open to her), but it IS one that often applies to these types of situations from before the sixties or in a number of third world countries, where our initial judgements based on the society and culture that we know are often unfair to those we are vilifying. Just a little food for thought. |

Here's the link to the search: http://news.google.com/newspapers?ni...g=5120,2631870. Just type in "Rosary Shelfo" and you can read about her arrest and resulting trial. It sure looks like postpartum depression to me. |

Re: Head on the Bread Board
Well, if she was crazy she probably sawed the child's head off slowly, and inflicted as much pain as possible. I'm sure she wasn't gentile and loving while she was BEHEADING her child. We need a madder looking smiley for when we're mad. Something with fangs would be wonderful!!!! |
