The photos should have been taken during the Boxer Rebellion (1898 - 1901).
Those should be boxers being executed. The uniforms are those of japanese army at the time:

Needless to say, the italian bersagliere is the only one that makes you lol Now tell me how in the world some enemy can take you seriously if you wear such an uniform. Tsk, tsk! Even the plumes stuck in the helmet, as if rest of the uniform wasn't already ridiculous enough by itself.

Yes Clots, they were a "Lot of 4 WW2 postcards" for sale at a militaria auction site for about $45. Crazy eh? Perhaps they were photographs marketed as postcards, I don't know for sure.
