Wolfie is right. It is always sad when Police,Fire,EMS or military lose one of our own. But by God we do take care of our own as well giving them a good and proper send off. The cool thing in our area is that there is a state wide benevolent group which nearly all of the Police and fire\EMS departments belong to . I can't speak for all areas of the U.S. but I know in our area when a officer or firefighter falls this group steps in to action as soon as they are notified of the death . They pay for the said officer\firtefighters funeral and provide consuling and other needed help to the family of the fallen officer or firefighter. Unfortunetly I have had to see these people do there work several times over my carrer. Having said that I sure was and am glad they were there and continue to be there for the men and women of law enforcement and fire EMS.  |
