Screwfly also known as Cochliomiya Homnivorax directly translated means man eater. They feed off of live tissue. Because they are sensitive to touch,light and movement the minute you try to get close enough to remove them they literally screw themselves downward deeper into the wound!.They are notorious parasites. They are obviously not the good species of maggots used for Therapy. In fact I believe somewhere in Texas scientist have found a way to eradicate the species by breeding sterile males and letting them go with the intent of breeding with the females, and in turn the females cannot lay eggs ending up with the species quickly dying off! Yay for science.Now if only they would do that in other countries where these man eaters exist and terrorize. Would you believe that they can eat right through to the bone! People that get these screwflies in their sinuses or ears or eyes are screwed(pardon the pun lol) because if not detected in time theses maggots have been known to eat right through into the brain! killing their hosts! Which is probably what happened to this poor man. They attack the navels of newborn , calves ,sheeps etc and have killed off enormous amounts of livestocks which is devestating to the farming industry. They even attack dogs and cats killing them too. They need to be eradicated off the face of the earth  because all they do is cause death! |

What a horrible way to die. Extreme infestation. Imagine having to live with those little bastards eating away at your face. A horrible, slow death. That shit's nasty. |
