Well, it turns out that no one of them is accurate, or, better, it seems to be still unknown which one of them is: the story that firstly came with the photo, was a fabrication.

What is known for sure, is that the photo firstly surfaced ON May 11, 1999, when The Monitor newspaper published a photo of soldiers forcefully shaving off the pubic hair of a nude woman. Thereafter, a 24-year-old woman, Candida Lakony, came forward, claiming to be the woman in the picture. But she was lying.

So, basically, neither the woman nor the soldier blamed for the forced shaving were in the photo.
So, who was the woman in the photo? Fuck knows!
A further step was made in 2010, when on a website someone has explained why not just the man and the woman in question, but even the whole Uganda had nothing to do with the photo.

I've checked by myself, and the three main types of uniform in use by Congo UPDF don't match at all the ones that we see in the photo, while one the Zimbabweans uniforms does: needless to say, it could have been some Congolean soldier (or civil, or not even Congolean) disguised as Zimbabwean soldier for some reason.

Since the more i try to find out, the less i learn about this photo, i give up
