This is an old, black and white document from a backcountry in Iran. Several people from a village were bitten by a rabid wolf. Much of the video focuses on one man as rabies takes over his body. It starts with typical signs of restlessness and agitation, then difficulty swallowing as each attempt to drink results in violent regurgitation. The agitation then gets worse and patient must be restrained. Delirium follows, then come and inevitably… death.
It’s crazy how at that time, medical staff did not use protective gloves when handling a patient with such dangerous viral infection as rabies.

oHeLL, you always post great threads! Rabies has always intrigued me oddly enough. I dont know if it was watching Cujo as a kid or what. Thanks for sharing and keep giving us that good stuff

It's stuff like this that I never understood WHY these people can't be put out of the suffering. Rabies can't be cured once symptoms set in so why let them live through an agony that is 100% fatal?
