he got my grandpa the bronze star when he was in the army. he wrote about my grandpa saving three soldiers after a tank had been disabled by artillery and Gen. Mark Clark saw the story in Stars & Stripes. and two days later, my grandpa had the bronze star, and my family never knew about it until after my grandpa's death in 2002.  |

are you saying that this IS Ernie Pyle, or he shot this photo? because, the photo in my comment is that of Ernie Pyle circa a year before his death. he may have shot this photograph, but it's certainly not him.  · |
