Two victim's from the Hiroshima atomic bomb. A boy burned all over and a woman with a severely burned face. At the end of 1945, five months later, 140,000 of the city's 350,000 inhabitants had died, and many more died as a direct result of the explosion in later years. |

Atom Bomb on Japan ~ Good or bad?? I mean they could have dropped the bomb over a de-populated area and said....if you don't surrender we will fuck you up. That would have worked maybe |

Re: Burned Boy And Woman
The Imperial Japanese were some heinous animals that "sewed the wind and reaped the whirlwind". They were 100% completely and totally and fully responsible for everything that they suffered. And...it was well deserved. The only thing that was unfortunate is that they felt no compunction whatever in doling out similar suffering wherever their armies of conquest went. In the scheme of things, considering Japan's global crimes, Nagasaki and Hiroshima were minor consequences. |

Re: Burned Boy And Woman
No nuclear bombs in Japan likely would have resulted in a joint Soviet-US invasion, with the end result being a lot more dead American and Soviet soldiers, as well as a lot more dead Japanese. Furthermore, the Soviets would have likely kept at least a few of the northern islands, a situation that would have increased the chance of a Cold War flash later down the road.
