Terrible times - I was out there far too many times to think of one of our tasks was photographing "incidents" like this. A good capture was of the scum carrying it out followed up by close up photographs of the cruelty dealt out in these horrendous assaults on civilians, purely because of a religion or the neighbour wanting their tractor, car, TV or the rumours they had money or gold hidden in the house. I was out there at various times 1993 through 1997 its the burden I have been given to carry, I just hope I don't have to in whatever follows this shitty life. The pictures (and some early video, done with a betamax camera as the quality was far greater and the cassettes smaller) are now all held in the records vault at Dan Hague in Holland where it and personal testimony has been put to good effect. I was always treated wonderfully there and it is(was) a newly constructed building very modern but filled with a sensation of extreme horror. I was not the only one to say that even though they have worked hard to make and armoured building as light and airy as possible sometimes you just need to walk down a hallway and the atmosphere can change in a few steps. Sometimes you would see some well dress arrogant piece of scum smoking and drinking coffee with their fanatical lawyers, other times you saw nothing but you knew they where somewhere close........I had to attend many times during 3 main and several side cases during 2000 and 2003 and as a result lived not in Holland but in Belgium as it was classed as safer...... Evil sleeps there... |
