Body of a Courtesan in Nine Stages of Decomposition
via the british museum. painted on silk sometime in the 1870s. buddhists would paint these nine stages as a meditative process. there is such beauty in death.

Re: Body of a Courtesan in Nine Stages of Decomposition
Well, I guess the BEAUTY is in the eye of the beholder, so that is why you would want to be the beholder, and NOT the person being killed. Does it say why she died? Or did she die, just waiting for those stupid monks to finish their artwork? |
