Arsenic was also used in clothes to create the green dye craze of the wealthy. Almost all women's gowns used Arsenic in the dye. You can imagine how well that went for the factory workers who handled it to dye those dresses every day

As poisoning has a nice side effect to the deceased body. It slows the decay down a lot, so that makes good vampire stories.
