Admission List (1800s Insane Hospital)
Seems legit. I find it very interesting to know reading a novel could land you admission into an asylum. Which novel I wonder...

Re: Admission List (1800s Insane Hospital)
Source http://dangerousminds.net/comments/l..._insane_asylum After viewing this list of what could have gotten you admitted to West Virginia’s Hospital for the Insane (Weston) aka Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum back in the late-1800s, I’ve swiftly concluded that the criteria was rather all-encompassing. Who among us is a stranger to what’s on this list? In this century, it looks more like a “wish list” for Dr. Phil’s guest bookers! Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is still open for tours. http://www.trans-alleghenylunaticasy...history3a.html |

Re: Admission List (1800s Insane Hospital)
This document might be more accurately described as “a list of some reasons why people were believed to have eventually developed illnesses that led to their being admitted to the West Virginia Hospital for the Insane” and not a list of “symptoms” or “reasons” why people were admitted to that hospital. http://www.snopes.com/reasons-admiss...-asylum-1800s/ |

Well, if "Masturbation For 30 Years" was still something to be committed over, you'd have to lock up a significant amount of the world's population. (And, if I misread that and they were referring to "Masturbation For 30 Years Continuously, they should get a gold medal and a bottle of water or something. |
