HOUSTON - Police are trying to determine why a woman was shot inside a party hall in southeast Houston.

Officers arrived around 12:30 a.m. Friday to the Brilliant Reception Hall on Kleckley Drive near Thermon Street and found the woman suffered one gunshot wound to the buttocks.

The shooting victim was taken to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital in stable condition.

Police are conducting a search for the suspect who fled from the reception hall.
