Woman Was Mauled to Death by Her Pet Pit Bulls
Woman was mauled to death by her pet pit bulls Tuesday night By Dan Stamm, Kelly Bayliss and Elyse Madison | Friday, Sep 2, 2011 An autopsy was released Thursday afternoon on the death of a Hunting Park woman. Medical examiners tell NBC Philadelphia the 50-year-old died from multiple canine bites inside her home Tuesday night. The manner of death was ruled accidental. Neighbors say the victim is Carmen Ramos. According to her husband, 55-year-old Jose Alverez, he came home from work to discover his wife being attacked by five pit bulls in their living room on the 400 block of W Carey Street around 6:30 p.m., police said. Police got to the bloody scene and were able to get the pets upstairs but it was too late for the victim who was declared dead at 6:45, cops said. The victim had suffered severe trauma to her head, face and legs, police said. The living room of the house was in disarray and it seemed that a struggle had possibly ensued, said cops. "These dogs are vicious, very vicious, you hear them all night barking and when they get loose, they just run around, everyone needs to run into their homes," neighbor Carmen Gonzolez tells NBC Philadelphia. Neighbors also say that the dogs were taken away by animal control on Friday after they bit a man. But the pets were returned earlier this week. Animal control officers were called to the scene to remove the dogs again on Tuesday. Video |

If they had shown signs of aggression before the incident, they should have been removed permanently from the owners. Obviously they were not raised right and the owners had no control over them. |
