Catherine Kieu laced her 60-year-old victim's tofu with sleeping pills and yelled "You deserve it!" before attacking him with a 10-inch knife.

The 50-year-old was jealous about her husband's plans to divorce her because he was seeing his ex-girlfriend.

She was convicted of torture and aggravated mayhem and sentenced today for the attack in July 2011. She can seek parole in seven years.


Her lawyer argued that she had mental health problems stemming from childhood molestation and sexual abuse by her husband.

During the trial, the victim testified that his penis could not be reattached and that he felt as though he had been murdered.

actually, they don't. at all. that's just the excuse rape apologists use. false allegations of rape are so rare as to be a non-issue if you are to compare it to actual sexual assault. women are never believed due to male sexism. but, as always, people blame women for the disgusting actions of men. people don't believe victims because we live in a patriarchal society. rape culture.

and the fact that she was jailed for life for cutting off a dick while rapists get <5 years is further proof of that.

Not saying what she did was right, but the punishment seems a little extreme and I'm thinking the judges personal feelings played a part in the sentencing.

She would have probably got less time murdering him, hell like somenody else said a rapist would have got less. Life in prison for GBH seems a bit excessive.
