PORTLAND, Oregon (KPTV) -
A porta-potty was tipped over. There was a man trapped inside. And police said witnesses did it on purpose because the man was touching himself while holding the door open.

It was not your everyday call for assistance at the foot of the Hawthorne Bridge on Thursday morning.

An officer was flagged down about a man trapped in a portable toilet near the Eastbank Esplanade at 8 a.m.

The Honey Bucket's door was against the ground, so Portland Fire & Rescue personnel responded to lift it back up and free the man who was inside.

The 48 year old homeless man was not injured, according to police, but he was covered in fecal matter and waste from the tank of the porta-potty.

An anonymous homeless person approached the crews at the scene and said the man had been in the porta-potty with his pants around his ankles, "pleasuring himself," as he held the door open.

The witness told officers that other homeless people in the area were tired of the man's behavior, so they knocked over the porta-potty and ran away.

Those people were not identified or located by police near the scene.

Based on the circumstances of the incident, officers decided not to arrest the man and got him some clean clothes.

The Portland Police Bureau said in a statement Thursday that they discourage people taking direct action in circumstances like that and advise calling 911 when witnessing an incident of public indecency.

The Honey Bucket that was tipped over was replaced.

He's not the only homeless guy who likes to rock out with his cock out in that district. When I was 16 I used public transportation to get to my high school, and the bus route went over the Hawthorne bridge. It's a homeless hotspot, and on one occasion we got delayed because some crazy ass vagrant was standing in the street with his huge wang just dangling out, raging on about some nonsensical gibberish while he pissed on the asphalt. He was also covered in duct tape. We were only stopped there for a minute, but that mental image will be with me for life

A honey bucket is a makeshift toilet out of a bucket or otheraterial that can be moved. Example: in alaska most people dont have indoor toilets so they use buckets to do their business then dig a hole and take the wastes and dump them there.
