If You live in the country its a very good idea to have a firearm around just in case a rabid animal or cougar or bear, etc is about to attack or is attacking you or your family or pets i like the idea of concealed carry to protect yourself from the human predator as well A gun is a tool and just like any other tool it can be used for bad but so can pretty much anything else such as a vehicle for example or a chainsaw its ignorance to consider firearms evil or unnecessary a firearm more than anything keeps you safe and will make that thug or criminal think twice about committing any crimes against you when they think you have a firearm

Scrappy little thang.

Good for her.

Country girls have real backbone.

Yeah.. Try striking a cougar with something . Do you realize how fast those things are?! This isn't your adorable, lovable house cat. It's a damn cougar! Adult cougars are bigger than me.

Do the country folk in Canada not have guns? Do their bears and cougars prefer a vegan diet?

I grew up in the woods of Northern California. We always had guns. There were close encounters with bears and one crazy guy who escaped custody and decided to sit on our front porch. They were also good for when we needed food in winter. It's just a tool. Not a pseudo penis.

And a starving one!! Makes it extra determined.
They've been breeding and population is going up, but there's nowhere to go. Their territories are too large for very many to occupy an area.

As a Canadian I just don't understand the need so many people have to carry loaded handguns on their person (or a loaded shotgun in the home) "just in case". There *are* viable alternatives to lethal weapons. And haven't people ever heard of gun safety?

In Filthydelphia, the wrong people have the guns. With no jobs and so many illiterate and impoverished people here, people are becoming criminals.

There are also a lot of kids who don't know who their fathers are and their mothers have to work and do not always know what their kids are doing while they are out of the house.

The mothers' point of view was expressed to me in the ER one night. She has two teens and knows they aren't angels, but, she has to work and cannot be there 24/7, a view I had never considered.

In some situations, both parents need to work just to make ends meet.

I know about birth control. I cannot believe how many people do not or have random babies with guys without knowing them first.

Some seem to do things in reverse. The children and innocent victims pay the price.

Not a valid point for this post, but, this is why in some cities, there are so many weapons.

Fish and wildlife should look at ways to increase proper prey for them. It's generally unnatural for mountain lions to consider humans a food source unless they're desperate, like this one was.

All that said, I'm very happy the humans are okay.

If it's a case of the flea bag or a humans life, the human should win out every time. The world won't end because of dead cougar!

I read there's usually only 2 cougars in a 30 mile radius because they don't like being around each other . So if the population is going up there's gonna be some angry kitties.
