Walmart Shoplifter Shot Dead by Security Guard/cop
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/1...crime&ir=Crime A suspected shoplifter was reportedly shot and killed by an off-duty deputy in a Texas Walmart parking lot on Thursday. According to KHOU, the unnamed shopper was killed after she and a number of other women were spotted "stuffing items inside their purses" at a Houston Walmart before attempting to exit the store. An employee reportedly notified the deputy, who was working "an approved extra job as security" at the Walmart store. The deputy, who works for the Harris County Sheriff's Office, is said to have confronted the women as they were leaving the Walmart, but they allegedly "would not cooperate." As KTRK reports, authorities claim one of the women "hit the deputy with her purse" before the group ran off into the store's parking lot and got into their car. "At that point, the deputy opened the door and commanded the driver to stop," Deputy Thomas Gilliland told the news agency. "She put it in drive, revving forward, dragging the deputy. The deputy discharged his weapon. The vehicle then fled," he continued. Gilliland also said that the deputy may have been "knocked…off balance" and that he had fired the shot "in fear [for] his life," KHOU reports. Though the group managed to get away, police soon found the car at a nearby apartment complex. One of the women was found dead from a gunshot wound, and another was reportedly taken into custody. The case remains under investigation. As the Consumerist notes, this is the second shoplifter-related death at a Walmart in recent weeks. Over Black Friday weekend, a suspected shoplifter died after being subdued by Walmart employees at a Georgia store, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. __________________________________ <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OrjqeRX3bBc?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Someone in the comments section said the video was released. 1. Shoplifting 2. Females 3. Leaving the scene 1. Struck an officer 2. Officer possibly in danger from being struck by car I say, desk job for life. He would be able to identify them if he saw them again, had a make and model of the car with plates. And firing a gun at a person driving may increase your chances of being hit or that car hitting another pedestrian. Fail. |

And you dont know exactly what happened. Finger on or near the trigger and sudden movement is going to make hitting the trigger that much easier. |

Trying to run someone over with a vehicle is attempting to murder them. Even though some imbecils may object to this, there are many people that will take steps to protect their own life. Armed and trained police officers will, and should, use deadly force to prevent someone from murdering them with their vehicle. The only real shame here is that an honest hard working cop is now force into all this unpleasantness by Ghetto Trash criminals and their Useful Idiot supporters. Too bad all three of the Ghetto Trash criminals weren't shot to death. |

Re: Walmart Shoplifter Shot Dead by Security Guard/cop
in some places, what the cop did was illegal. he put his own life at risk for a few items the woman put in her purse. he could have just gotten her plate numbers, the tape of her shoplifting and turned her ass in... and put nobody at risk....instead, he discharged a weapon in a Walmart parking lot, which puts everybody at risk. shoplifters arent worth that. he should have known better. not to mention, where i live you have to steal $500 or more for it to be a felony....and stealing that much in a purse at Walmart is a lot harder than you'd think (look around next time you're there and 'mind steal' $500 and keeping in mind cameras, employees and customers seeing you)....so he basically executed a person because of a misdemeanor.....a crime she likely would have just been fined and maybe sentenced to community serve for but not jail. |

What a load of crap. SHE escalated the incident into a life or death struggle. She died as a direct result of her attempting vehicular homicide on an armed officer. SHE attempted to execute him. Here's the deal, if you try to kill people...they might end up killing you. And justifiably so. Mmm'kay? |
