Video and Sound of a Meteorite Falling on Man's Porch
For the first time in history, video and sound of a meteorite falling to Earth have been preserved A celestial body traveling at a speed of 200 km/h hit the porch of a Canadian man's house in the city of Marshfield. The whole thing was recorded by an intercom with a camera. Now scientists are examining the scattered fragments. A piece of an astronomical object flew to us from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. |

Re: Video and Sound of a Meteorite Falling on Man's Porch
I’m not buying it. I think it was just some random shit falling from a the sky.(not a meteorite) My opinion is there would be a severe amount of damage had it been a real meteorite… |

Re: Video and Sound of a Meteorite Falling on Man's Porch
False. Once the object reaches Earths atmosphere, it slows significantly, almost to the point of terminal velocity depending on the speed and size of the object (wind resistance, planar resistance to the friction of the upper atmosphere). Earth's terminal velocity is 193kmh, so this checks out. Try dropping a rock off of a building high enough where it can reach that speed. You'll get a similar effect. Larger meteors have less resistance to Earths atmosphere, so it doesn't slow down enough to reach that terminal velocity speed (Remember, t-vel is just the force of gravity). |
