Re: Veteran's Day... Are You One or Any in Your Family?
Hanging my flag outside and watching "The Big Red One". My oldest brother is retired Air Force, both my great-uncles served in WWII, plus a distant uncle who serves with the First Special Service Force in WWII who trained in my home town of Helena, MT.

Re: Veteran's Day... Are You One or Any in Your Family?
My great grandfather was in WW 2 from start to finish, he served in the AAMC before it became the RAAMC (Australian Army Medical Corps) (Royal Australian Army Medical Corp). His 3 brothers (my great uncles) all served in the AIF (Australian Imperial Force), 2 were killed in Africa and the other died in Europe. My grandfather was in the RAN (Royal Australian Navy) and trained as an aircraft mechanic, he served on the HMAS Melbourne before the vietnam war. One of my cousins is in the ADF (Australian Defence Force), but that is all i will say about him because he's still alive and active. Our family also had serving members in WW 1 and the Boer war, but i do not know anything about them. |
