My oldest great niece's school, since third grade, doesn't even bother to check spelling anymore.

I talked with the new principal, who is trying some new method, whomever Gentry is. The other parents and caregivers don't like it either.

I feel bad for these children. I tried helping my great niece, but, her attitude is, "The teacher doesn't care about spelling, as long as we get the homework done."

Her parents feel the same way, which annoys me, too.

That, to me, is sad, from a now 10 year old. .

if i am texting i do tend to use text short cuts and he abuses me
hes like "MUM THATS NOT HOW YOU SPELL IT?"
hes weird, loves spelling, reads hard copy books

most kids couldnt put two words together let alone spell properly

Don't get me started on the people not giving a shit anymore, or I'll do a long rant that most people won't read anyhow, lol. Yeah, EVERYWHERE I go, every fucking thing is mediocre. From the fast food drive thru to the government, schools, you name it. Even being willing to pay hard cash doesn't get you any reasonable service these days.

"Publik Skools" are one of my top pet peeves. I never had children but when I was younger and thought there was a 5% chance I might, I decided the number one stipulation would be that the lady I was with would be willing to home school.

Today, many parents can't seem to figure out for the life of them why their children turn out bad. Usually they say "but I taught them right". Actually, that's usually not true, but when it is, what do they expect?

They spend a few hours a week trying to teach them what's right, explaining it to them etc. Then send them to "Skool" for 35 hours or so a week followed by a few hours each evening playing with the hellions in the neighborhood.

So, no wonder they turn out bad! They get 60 hours of teaching per week from fucked up sources and a few hours from their parents if the parents are teaching them right. DUH!

I went to high school with 4 people who could JUST barely read and they graduated. Two of them read about 12 words per minute at "grajewashion". Those people are in their 40's now and taking their part in raising their "yunguns". Lol. So goes the next generation as we move closer to becoming an Idiocracy.
