Re: Vandals Destroy Hitchhiking Robot : Thanks, City of Brotherly Love
Nah. When I was about 7 or 8 I smacked my Teddy Ruxpin around because he had the sheer gall to remind me that we were friends at a time when I was feeling quite down and stressed out about life (having to switch classrooms in school, not being able to convince the lunch lady to give me an extra chocolate milk, wondering if I was EVER gonna collect the rare hologram cards that I needed to compete my Marvel Series II collection... y' know, real-n***a shit). His batteries popped out when he hit the ground while he was in mid-sentence, and hearing his voice drag to a stop made me feel like I shouldn't be responding to love with hate. So really, hitchBOT was just like my Teddy Ruxpin was that day: he just wanted to be everyone's friend and was made to suffer for his compassion. But Teddy Ruxpin was still my friend after I put his batteries back in, and I believe that hitchBOT was just as dedicated to that same noble notion of fraternity even right up to the end. #WeAreAllhitchBOT |
