Re: US Tourist Gang-raped in Northern India
I grew up in battered women's shelters and I'd still say most American men treat their women better than 85% of the global male populace (sometimes a little too much better- It's hard to respect someone who kisses your ass constantly) But this 'asking for it' stuff is rubbish, and I'm not going to start treating every man I meet as a potential rapist. It's bullshit. I think women need to be taught how to defend themselves- Never get in a car with a stranger unless there's a tazer in your back pocket. Just try me, you fuckers.... |

Re: US Tourist Gang-raped in Northern India
I doubt he/she has ever been to an asian country. Pakistan and India are the worst for these sorts of things and yet its no fault of the woman when shit like this happens. A woman being kidnapped from her hotel/hostel or off the street and gang raped is not her fault. Going into a vehicle full of strange men in rape country is asking for it. Would a woman go down a dark alley with men hanging around? Nope. Is it her fault if she goes down there knowing full well there are men in the shadows? YUP! |

Re: US Tourist Gang-raped in Northern India
So, if a woman sticks her head in a blender, it's not her fault. Same goes with jumping off cliffs. Or walking the beach naked when the fleet just got into port. Sleeping with tigers. Yeah. I get it. Ok. This is why women have the well deserved reputation of being unstable, unreasonable and crazy. |

Re: US Tourist Gang-raped in Northern India
Yeah. Because having a vagina exempts one from having self-defeating/self-destructive tendencies and acting on them. She not only 'asked for it', she set it up and did it intentionally...consciously or unconsciously to whatever degree. There was an intelligence, an agenda, an intention involved here and it was hers. "Why would someone want to harm themselves? That's crazy!" True. Ever heard of suicide by cop? Eating/Smoking yourself to death? Drinking/Drugging yourself to death? Repeatedly involving yourself in destructive/abusive relationships (including self-induced rape)? The list goes on and on. It's part of the human condition. Male AND Female. |

Re: US Tourist Gang-raped in Northern India
That's not what I was talking about. What I was saying was that rape isn't going to just disappear once victims stop 'asking for it'. That is not the miracle solution to the problem of violent rape and more women need to take responsibility by learning to defend themselves instead of just feeling victimized.

Re: US Tourist Gang-raped in Northern India
The miracle solution is to quit asking for it. Do that...FIRST. Women and their actions/inactions are most heavily responsible for the overall societal attitudes regarding rape. For instance, women are generally mindf*ckers. Mindf*cking is a mental form of rape. Just as violent and just as destructive as physical rape. Women often think of mindf*cking as their 'right' and they should be allowed to wreak as much havoc as they wish without consequence. That's is the depth of their insanity. Some men will retaliate with a physical form of rape. So, how honest are you willing to be here? Or do you want to continue to hide in the insanity of denial? |
