their work is good, it's made quickly, the gems are the same gems we use and they have good customer care in place...

luckily for us in the luxury goods sector people are still prepared to pay over the odds for exclusive handmade pieces...

china has overtaken the USA because they set themselves up right not because anyone allowed it... give them some credit...they've don'e things smarter than pretty much any other nation for the last 40 years

and if you talk pollution china is a slightly more polluting country on the whole, but per person the USA is more than twice as bad....check the facts...

it's a well known fact that the USA is far behind most of the world...hell, they even bailed on the kyoto protocol because 'it would harm the economy of the nation'....fucking bush

The pollution aspect has nothing to do with per person. It has to do with factories being allowed to create pollution. American companies have very strict regulations that put strict limits on the pollution they produce. China doesn't have no where near the regulation, which makes it much easier and cheaper for a Chinese company to operate. Many of the Chinese manufacturers would be fined enormous amounts and even shut down if they were on American soil.

I'd have to disagree that Chinese products are as well made. They are generally made as cheap as humanly possible. Not everything, but a good deal of it.

China has very little labor money sink. Their manufacturing firms basically have legal slavery.

Hell ya, It's like England back during the Industrial Revolution (so-called) and America a little later on.

China would be crazy to agree to stop fossil fuels. They (nor any developing country) can begin to compete with the US witout it.

But, of course, Obama agreed to cut our fossil fuel usage and China said "Great idea! You go do that!" and agreed to cut their fossil fuel usage in ... never.

Take free trade out of the picture, and china loses it's biggest trading partner.

The trade deficit in July with China was 31 billion dollars...... That's one month.
The overall deficit in July was 67 billion. So almost half the manufacturing deficit was with China.

It's in part because China made smart moves, but we allowed the greedy few to ruin the masses here.

Why? For the benefit of your nation.

Re: US Now Second Largest Economy in World.

I've read that China's economy could be as much as 20% larger than reported. Which is hidden in China's black market. The largest black market in the world.

I know a guy who rebuilt his Honda R1 with Chinese parts. Nothing fit right, but it all said Yamaha on it.

The black market doesn't count as a countries economic output , but that makes no difference when the actual numbers they are reporting are not real.

Obviously it doesn't "get" counted. But it most certainly counts.

Remember my story about my friend and his R1? That's real money being sent to China to a distributor, that bough the product from a manufacturer, that bought the material from another distributor. This happens millions of times a year across China bringing billions of dollars to that country.

So how is that not part of their economy? It brings money, it supplies jobs.

It's no different than Mexico or Columbia. They don't count drug trafficking as part of their economies. But it certainly is a part of it. It brings truck loads of cash to their countries and gives thousands jobs.

It's not a part of their economy because it's all illegal money and the jobs it brings turns people into criminals. You don't count that as contributing to the value and wealth of a society, it's actually the opposite.

Where did you get your figures for the Chinese Black market value?

But none of that has anything to do with China fudging their numbers to make them appear better. Their economy isn't actually larger than ours, anyone can fake the books..
