Action News FISHTOWN, Philadelphia, PA - March 10, 2013 (WPVI) -- The father of a 10-year-old hit-and-run victim, who spoke exclusively to Action News on Saturday, says his other daughter is now a victim, as well. Jim Givens of Fishtown says his 15-year-old daughter, Kylee, was struck by a hit-and-run driver around 8:30 p.m. Saturday near Moss Playground, located near the intersection of Torresdale Avenue and East Cheltenham Avenue in Frankford. "I thought I was sleeping and needed to pinch me I couldn't believe it was happening again," said Givens. Kylee was taken to Aria Health Torresdale Campus where she is recovering from a ruptured spleen and two broken ribs. Jim says she is in stable condition. "I'm double fired up now because now at this point not only is there one person out there who is a scumbag he's got a twin brother," he said. Family members believe the driver may have been behind the wheel of a white sedan. Police do say they are investigating a hit-and-run, but have not released any further information. Just last night, Action News spoke with Jim and his younger daughter, 10-year-old Sarah, who was struck by a hit-and-run driver on the 2400 block of Memphis Street in Fishtown around 2:15 p.m. Thursday. "I was walking across the street and I saw a white truck just come zoom down the street. I got hit, flew up and I land under a car, then blacked out," said Sarah. She was rushed to St. Christopher's Hospital where she spent the night. She is now back home wearing a full leg cast. "I think the scariest part for me was getting hooked up to all of the IVs," she said. Police believe the driver may have been behind the wheel of a white GMC sport utility vehicle at time of the accident. A neighbor's surveillance camera shows a white GMC Denali with flashy rims and a tinted license plate speeding south on Memphis Street. The vehicle ultimately blew through the next stop sign. Action News told police about the video but was told they had not seen it. While Sarah is still recovering, her heart goes out to her older sister. "I'm upset for what happened to her because it already happened to me," said Sarah. Sarah also says she's thankful for such a strong support system of family and friends while they work with police to find the two people responsible for these reckless acts. "If anybody knows anything about this lets put this to rest, let's end this," said Jim. Both accidents remain under investigation. **Update March 13, 2013** " /> Action News FISHTOWN, Philadelphia, PA - March 10, 2013 (WPVI) -- The father of a 10-year-old hit-and-run victim, who spoke exclusively to Action News on Saturday, says his other daughter is now a victim, as well. Re: *Update* Two Sisters Hit in Separate Hit and Run Accidents Hours Apart
What are the odds? Thank goodness they weren't killed. What a nightmare for this family. I hope the girls recover quickly and they catch the people who hit them.

Re: *Update* Two Sisters Hit in Separate Hit and Run Accidents Hours Apart
They have the vehicle who hit the younger girl. I don't know how you hit someone or something and take off like that! If you stay, you are usually not charged unless you are under the influence of something. When you flee, you get charged! Gotta love the criminal mind! Pisses me off when one gets killed and the family cries on tv begging for help when normally they have the, "no snitching", mentality! The 10 year old is a dancer and competes, too *As of March 12th, they have the driver of the first vehicle, who has a lawyer, in custody. I think he is 22. He supposedly didn't know he hit something until he saw his vehicle on the news! Gee. Do you think the music was blasting inside?* **SUSPECT TURNED HIMSELF IN LAST NIGHT IN FIRST ACCIDENT** <object id="otvPlayer" width="400" height="268"><param name="movie" value="http://cdn.abclocal.go.com/static/flash/embeddedPlayer/swf/otvEmLoader.swf?version=fw1000&station=wpvi§io n=&mediaId=9025276&parentId=9024761&cdnRoot=http://cdn.abclocal.go.com&webRoot=http://abclocal.go.com&configPath=/util/&site=" ></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><param name="allowNetworking" value="all"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed id="otvPlayer" width="400" height="268" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allownetworking="all" allowfullscreen="true" src="http://cdn.abclocal.go.com/static/flash/embeddedPlayer/swf/otvEmLoader.swf?version=fw1000&station=wpvi§io n=&mediaId=9025276&parentId=9024761&cdnRoot=http://cdn.abclocal.go.com&webRoot=http://abclocal.go.com&configPath=/util/&site="></embed></object> |

Re: *Update* Two Sisters Hit in Separate Hit and Run Accidents Hours Apart
Many people here don't give a shit like they did when I was a little kid People drive like they are the one on the street and laws are just suggestions. The older girl had at least two boys with her while she was crossing and hit. |
