Re: *UPDATE* Michael Schumacher Injured in Skiing Accident in France
From what I've read elsewhere he's pretty much a vegetable at the moment, the only good news from this seems to be that he's finally woken up |

I hope he at least recovers enough to have awareness and communication abilities even if they're like Prof Hawkins...He still has a very long road to travel yet.

Re: *UPDATE* Michael Schumacher Injured in Skiing Accident in France
Michael Schumacher 'will be able to live relatively normal life' former Ferrari boss claims as he reveals his condition continues to improve Michael Schumacher can expect to lead 'a relatively normal life' but will never drive a Formula 1 car again, the former boss the Ferrari racing team has said today. Jean Todt spoke on Schumacher's condition shortly after visiting him at his Swiss mansion where he is being cared for in a purpose-built medical suite. The 45-year-old former race ace returned to his home with his wife and children two months ago after being discharged from a rehabilitation clinic in Lausanne, Switzerland. Schumacher spent time in the rehab clinic after coming out of his medically-induced coma following a ski accident in the French Alps on December 29 last year, which left him with catastrophic brain injuries. 'We must assume that Schumacher can lead a relatively normal life again within a short period of time,' Jean Todt said. 'We can say that he can probably never again drive a Formula 1 car. But he is fighting. His condition improved, and what is just as important is the fact that he is now at home with his family.' The news is a boost to Schumacher fans worldwide who have heard nothing of his condition since he was moved to the house. 'In the past weeks and months, he has made progress in relation to the severity of his injury,' said Todt, now president of the International Automobile Federation after visiting him last week. 'But a long and hard road is in front of him. Hopefully things will improve. His family is close to him. He needs time and peace.' Schumacher is being cared for by a team of 15 experts at his home. It is understood he remains immobile and unable to speak. The team at Gland, where a purpose-built mini-clinic has been constructed inside the Schumacher mansion, consists of 15 people, most of them provided by the Lausanne clinic. His care at home is estimated to be costing his family 100,000 pounds per month. At the end of the year his father Rolf is moving from his home in Germany into a specially constructed residence built for him in the grounds of the 35 million pound Schumacher mansion at Gland, on the shores of Lake Geneva. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...s-improve.html |

Re: *UPDATE* Michael Schumacher Injured in Skiing Accident in France
I don't consider myself materialistic BUT holy shit that mansion!!!!! I wish Schumacher's wife would allow him to be part of one live interview so we could see for ourselves what kind of 'progress' he's made. Having a hard time believing what the media has been told because he was in a coma for so long after his accident. |

Re: *UPDATE* Michael Schumacher Injured in Skiing Accident in France
I'm guessing that he is severely speech impaired...I think he would have made a short video for his fans if he could talk even if it was from his bed or a wheelchair...He may have lost a lot of his faculties and has poor comprehension or the accident has left him unable to speak properly...I think the man has a very poor quality of life now and is very dependent on others and likely will remain so for the rest of his life.
