Re: Ukraine: Russia Has Threatened Use of Tactical Nukes
Yeah I heard about the Rubezh;Im not sure if its deployed yet though; This is a great site for up to date news on the Russian Strategic Forces, I have the book by Pavel Podvig; http://russianforces.org/blog/2013/0...bezh_ava.shtml Some more from the same site about the Rubezh; http://russianforces.org/blog/2013/1..._missile.shtml Its a really interesting site, one of my favourites; and its not biased like a lot of Russian sites, it just gives straight facts about all of the Russian Strategic Nuclear Forces; as I said, I have the book, it wasnt cheap, but for people like me, who are very interested in Strategic Nuclear Forces, its a veritable treasure trove:http://www.amazon.com/Russian-Strate.../dp/0262661810 |

I suppose Russia would say that they are "upgrading" their Strategic Rocket Forces, replacing old systems with newer ones. I would imagine the USA is certainly updating its Strategic Nuclear Forces, theyre just not telling anyone. |

Re: Ukraine: Russia Has Threatened Use of Tactical Nukes
I'm sure America is. But are we doing enough? It seems when ever America does weapons test or joint military exercises to update capabilities we get threatened. Our enemies call it provocative. But when our enemies do the same thing they call it peaceful defensive measures. Our president leaves a lot to be desired imo. He seems more worried about not flexing American muscle, and appeasing.

Re: Ukraine: Russia Has Threatened Use of Tactical Nukes
Feeling pretty conflicted here or have given up on trying to care. It sounds to me like there is some expectation for America to send military personnel, equipment, arms and money to the Ukraine, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, and now Yemeni. At least that is how the news media is spinning it. Hmmm, on a different topic over 46 million legal citizens are now on government programs to have enough food, unemployment is reported at 6.1 percent but that does not include people who can no longer register for unemployment because their benefits have expired, social programs have been cut in the "sequester" since February of 2013 and every single day an average of 1000 immigrants are caught trying to enter the country illegally (no way of knowing how many evade capture). Those 1000 are most often ill and receive medical care, food and housing at our expense while they are detained and taken to the court to decide where they will be bussed. Sorry to rant, just in one of those moods today |
