I have dogs (a German Shepherd & a Staffordshire Bull Terrier) myself, so it was very upsetting watching that video. Pack of fucking assholes  but like illusions posts above...the Euro's won't be affected much by this, sadly.

china does dog culls when they have an outbreak of rabies. dog culls consists of police or volunteers going out in groups armed with clubs and heavy sticks. they surround the dog and beat it to death. before the bejiing olympics china did dog culls to try and "clean up the city". when greece had the olympics, they felt it was necessary to "clean up" the city of stray dogs and cats beforehand so they were putting out poison. i guess the olympics are not healthy for stray animals. they don't compete in any of the events but are the losers regardless. |

i just wanted to add that many strays (also dumped and abandoned) cats and dogs are not treated all that much better in the U.S.A. some U.S. states still allow animal control facilites to kill the animals using a gas chamber. there is controversy as to whether or not it is a humane way to kill an animal. from what some have said who have worked in shelters using the gas chamber, it is not humane and the animal suffers tremendously. the larger the animal the longer it takes to die. it is said that some large dogs will take as long as a half hour in the gas chamber to die. i have to wonder how animal abuse is considered illegal in these states when animal control officers and employees can legally gas animals. seems a bit hypocritical to me. ok, just thought i'd mention this since people (myself included) always tend to criticize what happens on the other side of the fence yet are blind to what is happening in their own home. |

:( some of those were people' pets. I bet some homeless kids/adults probably picked up some of that meat and tried to cook and eat it and it was poisoned.. wouldn't be surprised...
