Re: UFC Champ Jon Jones Enters Rehab After Testing Positive for Cocaine
And just a little more fuel for the conspiracy fire Its well know that GSP had issues with what he felt was lax drug testing. Before his fight with Hendricks, he wanted to do pre fight testing and offered to pay for it out of his own pocket. GSP wanted to go through the VADA program, which is independent and overseas many sports world wide. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Anti-Doping_Agency Hendricks however, refused to do this....... he would only deal with the Nevada State authorities. GSP submitted to both agencies testing, and passed both, for what turned out to be his last fight. He was very critical of the UFC's commitment to eliminating PED's from the sport afterwards. So why would Hendricks only deal with Nevada? http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...sting/4484761/ |

Re: UFC Champ Jon Jones Enters Rehab After Testing Positive for Cocaine
If you think the NSAC is shady remember when Overeem first came over to the ufc. Larger than life at the time. The dude was supposed to be the second coming. What happened, he gets popped for pissing hot in 12, following the first random drug-test of his career. That's with the same athletic commission. Tested positive for a testosterone/epitestosterone ratio of 14:1! Roids is a huge problem in mma but the NSAC has made everyone's drug test pubic. The Nevada State AC began testing MMA fighters for performance-enhancing drugs back in 2002. Here's a list of every fighter who pissed hot since. MMA Steroid Busts: The Definitive Timeline |

Re: UFC Champ Jon Jones Enters Rehab After Testing Positive for Cocaine
Guess who used to be the commissioner of the Nevada State Athletic Commission? You'll never fucking guess this..... Lorenzo Fertitta. He ran it from 96-2000, and had multiple business interests in the State apparently. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorenzo_Fertitta The commission overseas every aspect of combat sports in Nevada, officials, promoters, the fighters, managers, seconds, matchmakers, everything. So, at one time, Fertitta was the Boss of everything to do with combat sports in Vegas...... Which is where the UFC is based out of. Knowing this, maybe I shouldn't be surprised that the Commission told the UFC about the failed test before they told Jones. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nevada_Athletic_Commission I'm not implying anything....... But Hendricks would only agree to be tested by the commission that the head of the UFC used to be the boss of. |

Re: UFC Champ Jon Jones Enters Rehab After Testing Positive for Cocaine
That's idiotic. He's under contract with UFC. He's basically their employee, they have every right to test the people they promote. Just like any employer, they don't want drug addicts working or representing them. |

Re: UFC Champ Jon Jones Enters Rehab After Testing Positive for Cocaine
Also need to add that the NSAC refused to sanction the UFC, even after the rule changes (that are still in place today) until the financially crippled UFC was bought for $1m (iirc) by..... You guessed it

Re: UFC Champ Jon Jones Enters Rehab After Testing Positive for Cocaine
Excellent point. Just out of curiosity I started researching the UFC, and the Fertittas in particular. A lot of it it rumours, conjecture etc, but a lot of it is quite compelling...... The mob connections in particular. 3 generation casino owners in Vegas, with direct lineage to Italy......... |
