Duke Webb is an active duty member of the U.S. Army who was identified in the mass shooting at Don Carter’s bowling alley in Rockford, Illinois by authorities as the gunman suspected.

He was charged with three counts of murder and three counts of first-degree attempted murder in the Don Carter Lanes shooting late Saturday.

Police were called to the business, at 4007 E State Street, at 6:55 p.m., according to Rockford Police Chief Dan O’Shea. And arrived after the 911 call within 1 minute.

O’Shea said Webb had shot both inside and outside the building with his weapon. At the scene, two handguns were recovered, he said.

Three people, including a 73-year-old man, a 65-year-old man, and a 69-year-old man, were killed. The identities of the victims were withheld.

O’Shea said there were 3 people injured in the shooting. A 14-year-old male was shot in the face and airlifted for treatment to a Madison hospital.

A 16-year-old female was shot in the shoulder and treated and released at a local hospital. According to O’Shea, the two teens were at the establishment to pick up food for carry-out.

A 62-year-old man has been shot many times and has undergone several operations, and is said to be in critical condition.

Police claim that when officers arrived, Webb was already in the bowling alley and the incident was caught on surveillance cameras. According to O’Shea, Webb supposedly tried to conceal his identity before his arrest. Webb is classified as involved with the U.S. military, authorities said.

Attorney J. Hanley of Winnebago County State said Webb is charged with 3 First Degree Murder charges and 3 Attempted Murder counts.

O’Shea said that he figured that the shooting was a “completely random act.”

This was filmed at the Taco Bell Drive-through, directly adjacent to the bowling alley.
Wonder why he killed the old guys? Wonder if they were ex-military guys?

Complete random people i think. The teens were lucky but could have died also.
Looks like ptsd to me as he was deployed 4 times and probably encountered horrible things he couldn't cope with.

I remember being the only person where I worked who thought the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan were a bad thing. I thought we should have struck back, but not with ground troops. Let the enemy talk with our bombs. I told them then it would be a long, endless war. I didn't know how right I was. I thought maybe 5 years, and 10,000 American dead. Was I ever stupid. They all thought it would be over in 6 months, so I guess they were stupider.
We will be dealing with the effects of this war for the next 50 years, as we deal with ill and disabled vets, and service people who's lives have been ruined by PTSD.
I'm willing to bet this guy had an unblemished service record. There are a huge number of former service men who will never recover from the war, even if they seem and act normal. The government should be doing more for aftercare for these people, even if they weren't physically injured in the war. It's hard to believe we learned NOTHING from Vietnam.

Well, it really irritated me. That's when I quit being a Republican. All those guys were laughing and hand-slapping. When I mentioned all our people who were going to get killed, they were like "Well, they signed up for it!"
What, to be killed for no reason by an idiot president who was going to waste their lives without a thought? On another war we couldn't win? Didn't they remember Vietnam?! Were they so stupid they didn't remember what happened to the Russians who went into Afghanistan and got handed their asses just 10 years before!? I KNEW we wouldn't be killing like the Russians did. We had news reporters. The Russians didn't. The Russians had no oversight AT ALL, and they still couldn't win, even by widespread murder. Then it came out that the whole Iraq thing was fabricated, and there was no connection to Iraq and Osama Bin Laden, so THAT was useless as well. All the terrorists were from Saudi Arabia, as was Bin Laden. But our politicians just ignored that. They lied from one end to the other.
And all the idiots here STILL think they are just groovy!
